Wake County to delay opening Tuesday due to icy road conditions

Freezing rain and snow flurries are falling across Wake County, and with temperatures expected to drop below freezing overnight, roads may be slick in the morning, creating dangerous driving conditions. Out of an abundance of caution for employees and residents, Wake County will delay opening all facilities providing non-essential services until 10 a.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, Dec. 9.
These schedule changes do not include essential personnel, such as law enforcement, EMS and other first responders who work around the clock to protect the public.
