Reba McEntire’s daughter-in-law has miscarriage as country star endures another tragedy

Reba McEntire’s daughter in law, Marissa Blackstock, announced on social media she had a miscarriage.
The wife of the country music star’s son, Shelby Blackstock, shared the news Friday on Instagram.
“I’ve carried more loss this year than I ever imagined I could,” Blackstock posted. “First my brother-in-law, then my dad … and now our little boy.”
The couple learned they were expecting on Thanksgiving morning after trying to have a baby for three years, Marissa Blackstock shared.
It’s the latest in a number of tragic losses for McEntire.
Brandon Blackstock, McEntire’s stepson, died this year of cancer at the age 48.
In addition to Brandon Blackstock’s death, Marissa Blackstock lost her father the day before she discovered she was pregnant.
Marissa Blckstock said the pregnancy gave her hope.
“He showed me that my body can do this. That hope isn’t gone,” she posted.
Marissa Blackstock said she wanted to be transparent about their experience for those who have followed their journey to parenthood.
“Life happens quietly sometimes, and it’s such a shame we don’t talk about it more,” she added.
