Oh My God, Is Cher Getting Married?

According to multiple tabloids, Cher is ready to marry her boyfriend, 39-year-old music producer Alexander Edwards. “She has set her heart on walking down the aisle with him around the time of her landmark birthday in May” and “sees her upcoming celebration at turning 80 as the perfect time for her and Alexander to seal the deal,” a source told The Mirror, according to the Daily Mail. Apparently, Cher “doesn’t give a hoot about their age difference and they’re both ready to commit to each other.”

This isn’t the first time the pair has sparked marriage rumors — earlier this year, In Touch reported that Cher was “dropping hints” to her boyfriend, who goes by A.E., about wanting to be married. Still, even with all of the speculation, it sounds like they won’t be walking down the aisle — a rep for the singer told “Page Six” that the rumors are “not true.”

The couple has been together since they met at Paris Fashion Week in September 2022. One month later, Cher confirmed their romance after a fan asked if she had “a new boyfriendddd” on X, to which she replied, “YESSSSS.” Then in December, Cher shared a photo on X of an enormous pear-shaped diamond ring, writing, “THERE R NO WORDS, ALEXANDER,A.E.” While many of her fans assumed this was an engagement announcement, Cher wrote that she only “posted this cause his nails are so cool” and reshared the pic. A source then told E! that the ring was “just a beautiful gift” and “they are not engaged.”

Alas, these two are not getting married anytime soon — but hey, at least they’re happy. In 2022, Cher admitted on The Kelly Clarkson Show that their 40-year age gap was “kind of ridiculous” but added that “in real life, we get along great. He’s fabulous. And I don’t give men qualities that they don’t deserve.” Ain’t that the truth.
