Luigi Mangione was at a McDonald’s restaurant in Altoona, Pennsylvania, when he was arrested on December 9, 2024.
The arrest ended a five-day manhunt following the fatal shooting of United HealthCare CEO Brian Thompson in New York City.
Mangione has pleaded not guilty to a charge of second-degree murder and eight other counts in state court. He is also facing a separate federal prosecution where the death penalty is on the table.
