‘Young Sherlock’: Hero Fiennes Tiffin Is a Globe-Trotting Holmes in First Images of Guy Ritchie’s New Series

Prime Video has revealed first-look images of its new Guy Ritchie-directed period thriller series, “Young Sherlock,” showing Hero Fiennes Tiffin as the titular detective reimagined as an amateur investigator in the 1870s.
Inspired by Andy Lane’s “Young Sherlock” book series and told in Ritchie’s unmistakable cinematic style, the forthcoming show will share the origin story of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s iconic detective. It promises a youthful and unfiltered Holmes navigating his first-ever murder mystery case in a globe-trotting adventure.
Ritchie directs the series and executives produces alongside showrunner Matthew Parkhill, Dhana Gilbert, Marc Resteghini, Simon Maxwell, Ivan Atkinson, Simon Kelton and Colin Wilson. Harriet Creelman and Steve Thompson are co-executive producers and Motive Pictures led physical production for the series.
In addition to Tiffin, the series also stars Dónal Finn, Zine Tseng, Joseph Fiennes, Max Irons and Colin Firth. They can be seen in character, in costume and in action in the new photos.
“Young Sherlock” will premiere exclusively on Prime Video in 2026.
Ritchie previously explored the “Sherlock Holmes” universe by directing the 2009 film, “Sherlock Holmes” its 2011 sequel, “Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.” Both films starred Robert Downey Jr. as Holmes and Jude Law as Watson. Though a third film and other spin-offs have long been rumored, “Young Sherlock” marks Ritchie’s first official return to the legendary detective of 221B Baker Street in over a decade.
