Demigods, get ready. The anticipated season 2 return of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” is set to take place this week. Based on the beloved book series by Rick Riordan, the show’s first season premiered in December 2023.

The plot of the first season closely resembles that of the first book in the series, “The Lightning Thief.” The second season is expected to do the same with the second book, “The Sea of Monsters,” in which main character and teenager Percy Jackson “sails to the Sea of Monsters to rescue his friend Grover and save Camp Half-Blood,” according to the Disney+ description of the season.

The time the show drops has not yet been confirmed or publicly shared, but a two-episode premiere will accompany the launch of the new season, which will have a new episode airing weekly thereafter.

How many episodes are in ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’?

Season 2 is expected to have eight episodes, according to a tweet by the @PercySeries account. The names of each episode include:

The episode names mirror titles from the book’s chapter list, though the book features 20 total chapters. The book’s plot follows demigod Percy Jackson as he tries to save Camp Half-Blood from monsters by journeying to find the Golden Fleece, a magical item in Greek mythology, while also attempting to rescue his satyr friend Grover.
