Hollywood icon shares wild, never-before-told Eminem story from 2004

An Academy Award winning actress has shared a shocking story about Detroit’s most famous rapper.

During an appearance on The Graham Norton Show over the weekend, Kate Winslet said Eminem made a bizarre request while they were both on Saturday Night Live in 2004.

“I have to say something else,” she said. “And this is a story I’ve never, never told. Eminem asked me to shave his bottom. “He said, ‘Would you shave my butt?’ And I said, ‘I’m sorry. I don’t do personal grooming.’ Like, what? I’m not going to go with a Bic [razor] and get your crack, love! Never told that story before ever in my life in public.”

Winslet hosted SNL on Oct. 30, 2004, in support of her film “Finding Neverland.” It’s the only time she’s done so despite being an A-list actress for decades. Eminem was a musical guest on that same show.

Eminem, of course, was a lot different in 2004 than he is now. It was a particularly volatile time and one of the most publicly scrutinized periods of his career.

The full “Slim Shady” persona was front and center and he was rocking his trademark bleach-blonde hair.

He had released “Encore” in November 2004 and struggled with increasing substance use, fatigue from fame and rising pressure as one of the biggest artists in the world.

He was controversial, sharp-tongued, and politically outspoken and later expressed regret for his drug use at the time, eventually canceling the European leg of his Anger Management 3 Tour in summer 2005 to enter rehab.

As for Winslet, she is a four-time nominee for Best Actress for films like “Titanic” (1997), “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” (2004), “Little Children” (2007) and “The Reader” (2009), which she won.

She also has two nominations for Best Supporting Actress: “Sense and Sensibility” (1996) and “Steve Jobs” (2016)

Her directorial debut, “Goodbye June,” is set to be released in theaters Friday and on Netflix on Dec. 24.

Written by her son, Joe Anders, it stars an ensemble cast that includes Winslet, Toni Collette, Johnny Flynn, Andrea Riseborough, Timothy Spall and Helen Mirren.

The film is set during Christmas and features characters gathering around their dying mother who confront themes of grief, reconciliation, and love.
