Emmerdale hit by over 350 Ofcom complaints in two days as fans slam dark plot

Emmerdale bosses had not planned the dates to coincide and had no idea of the serendipity.

Neighbours was originally axed in 2022 after 37 years, before being brought back by streaming giant Amazon.

But after just three years, the beloved soap was given the chop again.

The soap has been a fan favourite both here and across the pond since it first aired in 1985.

In an emotional final episode the residents of Ramsay Street were seen waving goodbye to the famous cul-de-sac.

Similar to the previous “final ending” in 2022, the residents of Ramsay Street were faced with losing their homes.

This time it was because a planned a new highway was going to be built through a neighbouring suburb, resulting in the demolition of houses along its route – including Ramsay Street.

Fans will no doubt be left crying at the final scene which sees Susan Kennedy (Jackie Woodburne) stand in her beloved street, contemplating what is next for her and husband Karl (Alan Fletcher).

In a moment that will give loyal fans goosebumps, voices from past Ramsay Street residents such as Helen, Madge and Harold are heard echoing in the background.

Susan is then joined by Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis) and Karl for some final words before they leave the street for good.
