Jon Bernthal and Tessa Thompson Are Estranged Spouses Trying to Solve a Murder in Netflix’s ‘His & Hers’ Trailer

Jon Bernthal and Tessa Thompson try to uncover the truth in the new trailer for Netflix‘s psychological thriller, His & Hers.
Released on Thursday, the upcoming six-episode limited series sees Detective Jack Harper (Bernthal) and Anna (Thompson) investigate a murder — but also accuse each other of murder. Additional castmembers include Pablo Schreiber, Crystal Fox, Sunita Mani, Rebecca Rittenhouse, Marin Ireland and Poppy Liu.
“I didn’t hurt her, Anna. Do you know who did it?” Jack asks. Anna responds, “I didn’t do it, if that’s what you’re asking.”
Anna later says, “There are two sides to every story. Ours and theirs. Yours and mine. His and hers. Which means someone is always lying.”
Here is the official synopsis: “Set in the sweltering heat of Atlanta, Anna lives in haunting reclusivity, fading away from her friends and career as a news anchor. But when she overhears about a murder in Dahlonega — the sleepy town where she grew up — Anna is snapped back to life, pouncing on the case and searching for answers. Detective Jack Harper is strangely suspicious of her involvement, chasing her into the crosshairs of his own investigation.”
The series, from Fifth Season, is an adaptation of the 2020 Alice Feeney novel of the same name. William Oldroyd and Dee Johnson serve as co-showrunners.
Executive producers include Thompson, Oldroyd, Johnson, Kristen Campo for Campout Productions; Jessica Chastain and Kelly Carmichael for Freckle Films; and Kishori Rajan for Viva Maude.
His & Hers drops on the streamer Jan. 8, 2026.
