Paul Simon books new tour dates after coming out of retirement

A music legend is extending his comeback tour after coming out of retirement this year.

Paul Simon announced new “Quiet Celebration Tour” dates for 2026 in the UK and Europe. It’ll be his first time performing in countries like England, Germany, Denmark and Belgium in nearly a decade.

Tickets go on sale Dec. 17 via Ticketmaster. Due to high demand, fans may also want to look for tickets on StubHub.

Simon, also known for his work with Art Garfunkel as Simon & Garfunkel, previously went on a farewell tour in 2018. Simon called it quits due to significant hearing loss, which worsened during the making of his 2023 album “Seven Psalms,” but said he was able to return to performing with adjustments like speaker placement and setlist changes.

“It was incredibly frustrating. I was very angry at first that this had happened,” Simon told CBS last year, adding that he feared going completely deaf.

The singer-songwriter unretired for 50 U.S. tour dates in 2025, but had to cancel a small number of shows halfway through the trek to undergo surgery due to back pain.

Simon, 84, is a 16-time Grammy winner and a two-time member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, inducted as a solo artist and with Simon & Garfunkel. His catalog includes solo favorites like “50 Ways to Leave Your Lover,” “Me and Julio Down by the Schoolyard,” “Kodachrome,” “Still Crazy All These Years,” and “Slip Slidin’ Away,” plus folk-rock classics with Garfunkel like “Bridge Over Troubled Water,” “The Sound of Silence,” and “Mrs. Robinson.”
