New name coming to Raleigh skyline :: WRAL.com

The Triangle’s largest law firm will soon have one of its highest, most visible signs as well.

The Smith Anderson name and logo will soon grace the top of the tower formerly known as the Wells Fargo building at 150 Fayetteville St. in downtown Raleigh.

“As one of the largest private employers in downtown Raleigh, we are excited to have our name join the Raleigh skyline as a symbol of our enduring connection to the city,” said Managing Partner Byron Kirkland. “The new signage represents more than visibility. It reflects our long-standing presence in the heart of downtown with Fayetteville Street as our foundation, our confidence in Raleigh’s growth and our continued investment in its future.

Smith Anderson occupies the top seven floors of the 30-story building, and, in 2024, signed a lease to stay there for another 13 years. Work is underway to expand and update the Smith Anderson offices to include a cafe and meeting and event spaces that highlight the views of downtown Raleigh.
