Carrie Underwood Looks Unrecognizable For Week 15 ‘Sunday Night Football’

Country music star Carrie Underwood is changing things up for Week 15 of the NFL season.

Prior to the start of the 2025 season, NBC announced that Underwood would return for her 13th year with “Sunday Night Football.” The eight-time Grammy Award winner has been holding down this role ever since she replaced Faith Hill in 2013.

“For the 20th season of SNF, we wanted to set the tone for the night by reimagining the anthem sound in a way that plays to Carrie’s powerhouse vocals, while visually creating a seamless blend of stylized shots and behind-the-scenes moments evoking the national roadshow that is Sunday Night Football, week after week in the fall,” Tripp Dixon said.

Usually, Underwood is sporting her signature blonde hair on “Sunday Night Football.” That might not be the case moving forward though.

On Dec. 12, Underwood revealed that she’s now a brunette. She showed off her new look while raising awareness for St. Jude’s.

“Every child deserves hope,” Underwood wrote. “Become a Partner in Hope with @stjude and get your @musicgives shirt at musicgives.org and help kids facing cancer.”

Most of Underwood’s fans complimented her new hairstyle.

Does Carrie Underwood get paid for SNF?

For the past few NFL seasons, fans have been wondering if Underwood gets paid to sing “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night.” There was a rumor going around that claims she makes over $1 million each week during the fall.

“Singer Carrie Underwood is paid ONE MILLION DOLLARS EACH WEEK to do the Sunday Night Football theme song. Underwood reportedly films for the entire season in just one day and got paid 18 million dollars for that last season,” MLFootball wrote on X.

Underwood put that rumor to bed during an interview with Howard Stern. It turns out she doesn’t profit, financially speaking, from her work with NBC.

“No, it’s pretty pro-bono,” Underwood said. “I wish, that’d be great. That would be awesome.”

This Sunday night’s game will feature the Minnesota Vikings and Dallas Cowboys.
