Ross County part ways with Tony Docherty after 6-0 loss

Ross County have parted company with manager Tony Docherty by mutual consent after Saturday’s 6-0 Scottish Championship defeat by Raith Rovers.

The Dingwall side – relegated from the Premiership after a play-off loss against Livingston last season – are bottom of the second division, two points behind Queen’s Park in ninth.

Saturday’s dismal result in Kirkcaldy was a third straight Championship defeat for County, who have won just twice in the league all season.

Docherty had been dismissed by Dundee as recently as May after a 10th-place finish in the top flight.

He departs along with assistant Callum Davidson, leaving County searching for their third permanent manager of the season.

Previous boss Don Cowie left after a draw and two defeats began the Championship season, before John Robertson took interim charge for one game.

“We would like to place on record our sincere thanks to both Tony and Callum for their efforts during their time at the football club,” a statement from the club said.

“We will provide a further update to supporters in due course.”
