Hugo Ekitike scored the fastest goal of the 2025/26 Premier League season when Liverpool faced Brighton & Hove Albion on 13 December.
The Liverpool forward scored after only 46 seconds at Anfield.
It broke the mark of the season’s fastest goal, scored after 52 seconds by Newcastle United defender Malick Thiaw against Everton, a record that had lasted only two weeks.
Coincidentally, the only other goal scored inside the opening minute this season came on the same day as Thiaw, on 29 November, as Phil Foden put Manchester City ahead against Leeds United after 59 seconds.
Indeed four of the five fastest goals have come in the space of a fortnight as Nottingham Forest defender Nikola Milenkovic scored an own goal after 83 seconds at Everton.
