This Morning fans were left seething over a segment they branded as “utter nonsense”.
Today’s ITV show saw presenters Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary hosting, accompanied by an appearance from the Grinch.
Within moments of the programme starting, the festive character began causing mayhem on set, disrupting a cookery demonstration and later trying to lead a phone-in segment.
However, audiences were far from amused, with one raging: “The Grinch on every year and it’s still not funny.”
Another commented: “This is embarrassing. I’m off!!” whilst one viewer also remarked: “Can’t stand to watch that Gringe thing on there. Just awful!”, reports Wales Online.

“Turned over until the Grinch is done. So cringe!” someone else remarked.
“What the hell is this,” one viewer questioned, whilst another stated: “ITV is really taking the p with this. It’s embarrassing.”
Some viewers speculated whether the phone calls were staged by producers, with one commenting: “Well, this is not going down well…not funny at all.”
Another raged: “It’s Christmas, and it’s the Grinch. Again. You’d think the amount these *creatives* get paid, they’d be able to come up with at least a couple of new ideas.”

One person remarked: “I have been at home with #Thismorning on TV in the background. I’m sorry but what a load of crap! ! I’ve never heard such utter nonsense!”
“This segment makes me regret working from home today,” another echoed.
“Sorry but this Grinch segment is awful,” yet another stated.

The Grinch managed to cause mayhem throughout the show, dipping his finger into John Torode’s mince pie ice cream instead of using cutlery, stomping on presents in the studio, and eventually cuddling actor Matt Smith on the sofa.
During the phone-in, The Grinch suggested that one person put their brother up for adoption, gave ideas for family presents and left Alison and Dermot to dish out the real advice.
“I just read what’s in the teleprompter,” he cackled as he concluded the phone-in.
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1 and ITVX.
