Flash flood warning, GO NOW evacuation issued after White River levee breach in Pacific

PACIFIC, Wash. — “GO NOW” evacuations are underway early Tuesday in the city of Pacific in King County.
At 1:39 a.m., the National Weather Service (NWS) issued a Flash Flood Warning after a levee breach on the White River.
A basic map from the NWS showed the evacuation area of a few square blocks between Algona, Pacific, and Stuck.
Emergency officials are working to construct a temporary wall with sandbags and are transporting people who need to evacuate. Some people have 10 to 11 inches of water in their homes.
Neighbors say they heard evacuation messages coming from helicopter loudspeakers early this morning.
KOMO News video from the scene showed rising water flooding the streets.
