The Texas Tech basketball team’s defense almost caught up to them in United Supermarkets Arena on Tuesday night, but the Red Raiders were able to hold off Northern Colorado’s upset bid for a 101-90 victory.
The Red Raiders, ranked 19th in the country, improved to 8-3 on the season and got a career game from LeJuan Watts, who didn’t miss a shot until the final minutes and finished with 36 points on 12-of-13 shooting. He started the game 12-for-12 from the floor, which matched the Big 12 Conference record, before missing a 3-pointer in the closing minutes.
JT Toppin added 23 points with Christian Anderson and Jaylen Petty each producing 14 points.
Wyoming shot 56% from the field for the game (Tech shot 59%) and got 29 points from Brock Wisney. Zach Bloch added 17 points and Vincent Delano 16.
