BET Renews Tyler Perry’s ‘Sistas’ For Season 10, Sets Premiere Date

EXCLUSIVE: BET has renewed its hit Tyler Perry series Sistas for a tenth season, ahead of the show’s Season 9 finale, airing tonight at 9/8c. Fans of the Atlanta-set dramedy won’t have to wait long for new episodes. Season 10 premieres at 9 p.m. January 7, with new episodes dropping weekly on Wednesdays via BET.

From Tyler Perry Studios, the hour-long series Sistas follows a group of single Black women as they navigate their complicated love lives, careers, and friendships through the ups and downs of living in a modern world of social media and unrealistic relationship goals. They must navigate this new-age dating scene as they search for love in their 30s.

The ensemble cast includes KJ Smith, Mignon, Ebony Obsidian, Novi Brown, Crystal Renee’ Hayslett, Devale Ellis, Chido Nwokocha, Brian Jordan Jr., Angela “Angie” Beyincé, Branden Wellington, Chris Warren, and Kevin A. Walton. Darone Okolie, Walnette Marie Santiago, and Sullivan Jones recurred in Season 9.

Sistas is currently on track to be the No. 1 scripted cable series of the year among Black adults 18-49 for the fifth consecutive year as well as the top series on cable among all Black viewers for the third year in a row, per live + same-day Nielsen data through October 5. Data for the remainder of the year is not yet available, which is why BET hasn’t made the final declaration of success just yet.

Sistas 10 is written by Courtney Glaude, directed by Armani Ortiz, and executive produced by Tyler Perry.

Back in May, the Sistas spinoff series Divorced Sistas was announced at BET+ and premiered a month later. The series follows five close friends — Rasheda, Geneva, Naomi, Tiffany, and Bridgette — as they navigate life, love, and the challenges that come with divorce, marriage, and dating. As they lean on each other through heartbreak and healing, their biggest test comes from within their own circle, challenging their loyalty, character, and true bond of sisterhood.

LeToya Luckett leads the ensemble cast that also stars Khadeen Indréa, Porscha Coleman, Briana Price, Jennifer Sears, RonReaco Lee, DeVon Franklin, Donovan Christie Jr., and Robert Christopher Riley. The spinoff has yet to be renewed at the streamer for Season 2.

Sistas’ first spinoff, Zatima, stars Crystal Renee Hayslett as Fatima and Devale Ellis as Zac Taylor. The highly rated title premiered in 2022 and aired its most recent fourth season in September. No Season 5 pick-up has been announced to date; however, we understand BET+’s slate is under review following the Paramount and Skydance merger.
