Brind’Amour: Seth Jarvis ‘out a while’ after crash into post vs. Panthers

Seth Jarvis, who exited Friday’s loss to the Panthers after crashing hard into the post, will be “out a while,” head coach Rod Brind’Amour told reporters post-game, according to The Athletic‘s Cory Lavalette.
Brind’Amour also added that the injury “is not good,” per team reporter Walt Ruff.
Jarvis made a fast dash towards the net with 4:40 left in overtime. But as he attempted to get the shot off, he was inadvertently tripped and sent flying into the post by Panthers’ Evan Rodrigues, who was trying to deflect the shot.
The Hurricanes forward momentarily stayed down on the ice in pain, appearing to hold his midsection, before being helped off the ice and down the tunnel.
No penalty was assessed on the play.
Jarvis, 23, is Carolina’s leading goal scorer by a wide margin. He posted 19 goals and eight assists through 33 games this season, while Sebastian Aho is the only other Hurricane with 10-plus goals on the season with 13.
Jarvis is coming off back-to-back 67-point campaigns with goal totals of 33 and 32.
If the young forward were to miss considerable time, his chances to make Team Canada’s Olympic squad become murkier. Jarvis was on Canada’s 4 Nations Face-Off team, where he registered an assist in three games.
