Woman killed in Philadelphia hit-and-run on Whitaker and Wyoming Avenue; police searching for driver

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — A woman was killed Friday night after being struck by a driver who fled the scene in the Feltonville section of Philadelphia, according to police.
The crash happened around 9 p.m. at Whitaker and Wyoming avenues.
Police say the victim, a 63-year-old woman, was crossing Whitaker Avenue at Wyoming Avenue within the crosswalk when the vehicle struck her.
The driver stopped to look at the victim, but then fled the scene, continuing northbound on Whitaker Avenue.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Her identity has not yet been released.
The striking vehicle, a 2012 white Infiniti M37, was found unoccupied in the area of A and Louden streets. Police seized the vehicle for further investigation, but have not yet found the driver.
The investigation is ongoing with the Crash Investigation Division.
