An 11-year-old who worked on the Wicked: For Good film has described filming with Ariana Grande as “so exciting”.

Lily, who lives on the border between Cambridgeshire and Norfolk, worked on the film at Elstree Studios in Hertfordshire in 2023.

She performed the song Every Day More Wicked with Grande and other stars, and appears in the film’s trailer.

Wicked: For Good was released in November 2025 and has earned $226m (£178m) worldwide.

Acting aspirations

Lily’s acting career is supported by her father Malcolm, who is also an actor.

While Lily’s scene did not make it to the cinema cut – despite it being used in the trailer – she hopes that it will feature in the extended edition.

Malcolm said: “Half the scenes in the first film that were cut ended up in the extended cut or in the second film, so I’m hopeful it will be used.”

Lily has not let that stop her. She has just finished performing in two pantomimes, has a role in the horror film Pinocchio Unleashed and is providing the voice for a character in the computer game The Fractured Vale.

Malcolm said he is not a pushy parent and Lily always has the final say on whether she takes an acting job.

“I think I’m going to stay with acting when I grow up because I find it really fun,” she said.

Malcolm added: “You could go through your whole life and not get an opportunity like the one Lily got.

“It was absolutely amazing when we got the news through saying that she’d been cast as one of the Girls Brigade.

“It was absolutely unreal. I thought: ‘She’s going to be on a film set with really massive film stars’.”

Lily said she was able to speak to Grande, who she described as “really nice”.

Lily said a highlight of the filming process was being fitted for her costume and having her hair and make-up done, but she did not enjoy the early starts.

“We had to get up at 04:00 (GMT), which was terrible. I can’t even get up at 06:00 in the morning!”
