Thirty-four NCAA DI men’s hockey players are competing in the 2026 IIHF World Junior Championship beginning Friday, Dec. 26 in Minnesota.
There are 15 different NCAA DI hockey teams represented at this year’s tournament. Michigan has the most players competing with six, followed by Boston University, North Dakota and Michigan State, each with four. The United States team has the most current college hockey players with 21, and Canada has the second-most with six.
The World Juniors is the premiere under-20 men’s hockey tournament where players showcase their talent against top competition from around the world. The United States team is two-time defending champions for the first time after winning the tournament in 2024 and 2025. You can watch the full tournament on NHL Network in the United States.
