Here’s WAVE News meteorologist Carson Meredith with your forecast.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – Cloudy skies stick around Saturday night. A few showers are possible overnight as a warm front lifts through the region.

Areas of fog are also possible by Sunday morning. The clouds and southerly winds will limit lows to the 50s. Most of Sunday looks relatively quiet with cloudy skies, wind gusts upwards of 25 to 35 MPH, and light rain showers at times.

Highs soar to record territory in the low 70s before widespread rain and strong gusty winds arrive with a cold front. A narrow band of heavy rain and embedded thunder arrives after 7PM Sunday night and exits just after midnight. This narrow band of rain and thunder may produce strong gusty winds ranging from 40 to 60 MPH.

Temperatures crash into the 20s by Monday morning. Much colder air settling in could lead to a brief mix or flurries before sunrise Monday morning as precipitation exits the region. Travel impacts are unlikely at this time. Temperatures hold steady in the 20s with wind chills in the teens all day Monday.

Chilly air sticks around for much of next week with daily highs for most in the 30s and lows in the 20s. There is a small chance that 2026 starts off with light snow New Year’s Day Thursday. Winter is far from over!
