Jason Kelce’s ‘Time Will Tell’ Answer Just Complicated His Best Man Odds at Taylor & Travis’ Wedding
“Time will tell if there is one or anything like that,” Jason Kelce said when Good Morning America asked if he was getting ready to give a best man speech at his brother Travis Kelce’s wedding to Taylor Swift.
On paper, the most obvious job for Jason at that wedding is best man. His latest update on the morning show made that sound a little less automatic. After the question about his speech, he added, “I’ve been given no details on that front,” before saying that “however I’m involved, I’ll be happy to be” and that he’s “just happy for those two.”

Back in September, he sounded a lot more confident about the role. On the Bussin’ With The Boys podcast, Jason said, “First of all, hopefully I’m the best man. We’ll see. Trav has a lot of friends. I’m just hoping to get the opportunity.” At the time, it lined up with what many people expected: the older Kelce brother standing beside the Kansas City Chiefs tight end on his wedding day.
What hasn’t changed is how strongly he backs the couple. In that same podcast interview, Jason called Swift and Travis “unbelievably supportive of each other, in both of their outlandishly successful worlds,” and said he wants his brother to have “the most fulfilled, best life possible.” Getting married and raising a family, he added, is a huge part of that picture.
Swift and Kelce announced their engagement on Aug. 26, after going public as a couple in 2023 two years earlier. Since then, reports suggest that they’re eyeing a June 13, 2026 ceremony in Rhode Island, with Ocean House in Watch Hill floated as a possible venue — a date that also lines up with Swift’s long-running attachment to the number 13. We also know that Gigi Hadid and Selena Gomez are set to be two of Swift’s bridesmaids, but haven’t heard as much about the groom’s side of the wedding party.
More recent reports have also suggested the pair are rethinking just how big and star-studded the celebration will be. One insider claimed Swift is “pulling back hard” on an over-the-top guest list and wants something that feels intimate and grounded instead of like another stadium stop.
Whether that scaled-back approach includes a traditional wedding party — and a formal best man spot for Jason — is still unknown. For now, his “time will tell” answer keeps one of the most obvious roles at the Taylor Swift–Travis Kelce wedding very much up in the air.
