Sarah Hadland shares how Thomas Skinner remark made her ‘nervous’ moments in BBC Celebrity Apprentice stint: ‘Don’t ask me!’

Sarah Hadland has opened up about her time filming this year’s festive edition of The Celebrity Apprentice, admitting she was left particularly nervous about the challenge ahead of her thanks to co-star Thomas Skinner.
The businessman joined the actress in the boardroom after initially shooting to fame on the BBC competition back in 2019.
The reunion with Lord Alan Sugar proved to be an emotional one for Mr Skinner when he sat down in the boardroom once again, but ever the salesman, he quickly brushed off the cobwebs.
Ms Hadland, on the other hand, has admitted she was left rather apprehensive about the entire experience, thanks to her lack of knowledge in the business world.

Discussing her stint on the Christmas special, Ms Hadland began by delving into why she wanted to take part.
“Before Strictly, I was always the type who wouldn’t enjoy doing these kinds of programmes, but I loved watching them,” she said.
“Strictly being the biggest for me, as I was such a big fan. Doing it made me feel that if something feels right, which this did, then I should go for it.
“I’m also a big supporter of Children in Need. That’s a huge factor. If you feel you can help, especially after the profile boost from Strictly, you think, I’d love to get behind this.

“It’s also a bit of fun. The Apprentice is another iconic show, so I thought I had to do it.”
But when asked if she was nervous about the process, Ms Hadland revealed how Mr Skinner inadvertently added to the pressure.
“Yes!” she revealed. “At one point, Tom said, ‘We’re all businesspeople here,’ and I thought, ‘I’m not! Please don’t ask me what business I have’.
“Nothing, the business of show, Lord Sugar! It’s definitely not my comfort zone, my instinct is to make things funny.

“I did barrel in on the first day and said, ‘Hello!’. All three of them looked at me like I was mad. Quite quickly, you realise you have got to have serious answers.”
However, despite the angst, Ms Hadland had nothing but fond memories of her time filming the festive edition.
She said to the BBC: “It has been absolutely amazing. I feel like if you want to get people to give up their money, that you’ve done something decent to get it, and I can honestly say our team worked so hard, we properly got on, had a laugh, and it’s an amazing cause.”
Meanwhile, Mr Skinner reflected on how he found filming the celebrity edition of the show compared to when he first entered the boardroom in 2019.

“It’s very different. I think the difference is when I first went in there, you’re trying to win money to invest into your own business, whereas this time round it’s not for you, it’s to raise money,” he explained.
“So it’s a little bit more serious this time, in a way. The last time I was in here was to nick a few quid for myself, selfishly.
“But this time round, this is for kids who really need this, so this is big. I’ve stood on my own two feet since I was 16, I’m a grafter, I can turn my hand to anything.
“I lost loads of tasks when I was on the show last time but look how it turned out, I’m back as a celebrity!”
