The Night Manager creator on the ‘fluid love triangle’ at the heart of series two

“I respect it a lot,” says Farr of the Apple TV hit. “But I also wanted to blow Slow Horses up – not literally, but you know what I mean.” Farr doesn’t want to give too much away, but suffice to say that Alex Goodwin does not last long. While Slow Horses is a comedy of sorts, complete with fart jokes and relentless cock-ups, the Night Manager is grander and slicker. The funniest lines in series one were delivered by Roper’s rascallish minion, Corky, (nailed by Tom Hollander), but he was killed off by Le Carré. That’s the trouble with unplanned sequels.
