Daisy Ridley, Sam Claflin & More Join Johnny Depp For Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol

The cast of the new take on A Christmas Carol, which is set for release next Christmas, has swelled even more to add to an already stocked cast for the new version to be directed by Ti West, director of MaXXXine, Pearl and X.
The new film – entitled Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol – will star Johnny Depp in the lead role of Scrooge, with Andrea Riseborough (Goodbye June), Tramell Tillman (Severance) and Sir Ian McKellen (Avengers: Doomsday) already part of the ensemble.
Now, Deadline reports that Daisy Ridley (Cleaner, Star Wars), Sam Claflin (Daisy Jones & The Six), Rupert Grint (Knock at the Cabin), Charlie Murphy (Halo), Ellie Bamber (William Tell) and Arthur Conti (Carrie) have been added, which is due to start filming soon. Nathaniel Halpern penned the script, with Emma Watts producing.
This version, a ghost story set in Dickens’ London, “follows one man’s supernatural journey to face his past, present and future and fight for a second chance.” While not confirmed, sources say Grint will play Bob Cratchit, Scrooge’s selfless employee. It is unknown who the others will be playing, but with a cast this stacked, everyone is going to have something fun to do.
This will mark the second high-profile adaptation of the story, with Robert Eggers set to make his own version in the next year or two, with Willem Dafoe playing Scrooge.
Ebenezer: A Christmas Carol is set for cinemas on November 13th.
