Anthony Cirelli
Biography
Anthony Cirelli is set to make his Olympic debut at Milano Cortina 2026 after helping Canada win the 2025 4 Nations Face-Off. He made his debut with the senior national team at the 2019 IIHF World Championship, notching three goals and an assist as Canada won silver.
His first international experience came at the 2017 IIHF World Junior Championship, where he took home a silver medal after Canada’s 5-4 shootout loss to Team USA.
Cirelli was drafted in the third round, 72nd overall, by Tampa Bay in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. He won back-to-back Stanley Cups with the Lightning in 2020 and 2021. In 2025 he was a finalist for the Selke Trophy as the league’s best defensive forward.
Cirelli played junior hockey with the Oshawa Generals, serving as team captain for two years. He led the Generals to the Memorial Cup and OHL Championship in 2015. In 2017 he was traded to the Erie Otters and scored the OHL Championship-winning goal in overtime for his second league title. That same year he played on the OHL All-Star team in the Canada/Russia Super Series.
