Doha becomes centre of FIFA football action over two months

Doha has been buzzing with football over the past two months. The city hosted three major tournaments back-to-back, starting with the U-17 World Cup in November, followed by the Arab Cup and the Intercontinental Cup in December.
Fans from across the region filled stadiums and fan zones, enjoying the matches, cultural activities, and live performances. Lusail Stadium hosted the Arab Cup final, where Morocco beat Jordan 3-2 after extra time, giving fans a thrilling end to an intense period of football.
FIFA officials praised Qatar for the organisation and smooth running of the tournaments. President Gianni Infantino highlighted higher prize money for the 2026 World Cup, announced a new U-15 youth festival and spoke about a fund to support children affected by conflict.
