Luke Humphries treats himself to £200,000 Lamborghini Urus Christmas present after £3million career earnings

LUKE HUMPHRIES treated himself to a £200,000 Urus Lamborghini as a reward for a two-year trophy-laden spell.
And he hopes he is in the fast lane this week to another world title – which might mean potentially meeting another flashy model in Luke Littler in Saturday night’s final.

Certainly the 190mph super-car has a boot big enough to fit the Sid Waddell Trophy, which he lifted two years ago, for when he returns home to Cheshire.
Cool Hand Luke, 30, has bought a new house for himself, his fiancée and two kids and he has invested sensibly for their future.
Though he is not a flashy bloke, the one thing he splashed the cash on was a nice new motor, a 2025 model, and he loves nothing more than listening to Prince on the radio as he drives to darts events.
The eight-time TV major winner – who has earned a reported £3million from the sport – said: “It was a Christmas present to myself. I got it a few weeks ago.

“I put it on Instagram to thank the company more, not to show off.
“More to thank them because they really did get out to me as quicky as possible and really early.
“Do you think I’d have bought it if I needed money to run it?
“I think I’ve been very, very sensible in my life and have bought a really, really good house.

“Now with my favourite car, of course, I can afford to run it whether I win or not. I’m a very sensible person.
“Obviously it’s a high-performance car as well, but I’m not an idiot to go around and start being stupid and speeding and stuff.

“It’s very luxurious. It’s something that I can look back on now and say, you worked incredibly hard for that.
“And of course everyone has their own limits. When you earn this certain amount of money, you buy this car.
“When you’re earning a lot of money, you can buy what you want. So for me, that was my thing to say, ‘You’ve achieved a lot now, that’s your little treat.’
“When I’m driving I listen to Heart radio. For their Noughties music. Music from the 1980s is my favourite to be honest. I love Prince.”
The Humphries family brought his young son “enough toys to last him eight days” after coming down to London on December 27 in the hope he would last for the duration on January 3.
His quarter-final battle with Gian van Veen, 23, is going to be “fiery”, especially as he lost all four of meetings with the Dutchman in 2025.
And only once has Humphries won his previous four quarter-finals appearances in the biggest tournament of them all.
Humphries has been steadily getting better as the event has progressed this time but he knows he has to do better if he is to scoop the £1million prize.
The Berkshire-born man said: “My level has been decent. I don’t think it’s at a level that will win me the tournament. I think it has to be upped.
“I’m going to have to be at the best of my abilities to win this tournament now. So I think a lot is different from the time I won it before.
“I kind of coasted through a few games here and there, quarters and semis. This time, I don’t get that.
“The good thing for me is I feel like, not all the time, but a lot of times in my career, I kind of found that level when I really, really needed it.
“Even when I’ve been in good leads and then someone’s come back at me and I find that really good set at the right time.
“I’m really working hard to try my best to become World Champion again.”
