Woman, 77, falls from Holland America cruise ship near Cuba

The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for a 77-year-old woman who they said fell from a Holland America cruise ship on New Year’s Day.

According to Coast Guard officials, the woman fell overboard the Nieuw Statendam ship about 40 miles northeast of Sabana, Cuba.

Coast Guard Cutter William Trump & Air Station Clearwater MH-60 crews are searching the water for her.

The ship reportedly left from Port Everglades on Saturday.

No other details were immediately released.
