Alabama benches struggling Simpson in CFP game vs. Indiana

Alabama pulled quarterback Ty Simpson after falling behind 24-0 in the third quarter of Thursday’s College Football Playoff matchup against Indiana.
Austin Mack came into the game to replace Simpson and led a scoring drive to cut the deficit to 24-3. He completed four of his five pass attempts for 46 yards on his opening drive.
Simpson has been battling an elbow injury and appeared to be hurt on a hit near the end of the first half.
He completed 12 of his 16 passes but only totaled 67 yards for a measly 4.2 yards per attempt.
