Ferrell revealed he helped taught two of the game’s referees in an interview with FanDuel Sports Network West.
“I’ve always been in support of the NHL referees,” Ferrell said in the interview. “In fact, I trained two of the guys out here. They are two of my prize students, Brandon and Francis. They’re calling a heck of a game.”
This isn’t the first time Ferrell, a diehard Kings fan, has got in character at a game during the holiday season. Last December, he dressed up as his iconic character Buddy the Elf after a “tough holiday season.”
Safe to say, Ferrell is taking his new role very seriously.
