Environment Canada says snow squall warnings are issued when bands of snow form that produce intense accumulating snow or near zero visibility. (Laura Meader/CBC)
If you’re out on the road in Nova Scotia on Friday afternoon, be careful.
An Environment Canada snow squall watch is in effect for Annapolis, Kings, Hants and Colchester counties.
Snowfall amounts may be between five and 10 centimetres, and winds could gust up to 70 kilometres an hour.
This could produce whiteout conditions and reduce visibility on the roads to near zero at times.
Environment Canada said it issues snow squall watches when it anticipates “localized, intense snowfall causing rapid accumulation and/or reduced visibility is possible.”
