Lions fire offensive coordinator John Morton after one season

After defeating their former offensive coordinator Ben Johnson and the Chicago Bears in Week 18, the Detroit Lions are re-starting the search for Johnson’s replacement.
Detroit is firing offensive coordinator John Morton after one season, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported Tuesday. The team later announced it has “parted ways” with Morton.
Head coach Dan Campbell took over play-calling duties from Morton for the Lions midway through Detroit’s 9-8, playoff-less season .
