2026 National Society of Film Critics Winners List

The National Society of Film Critics is voting on its top picks for the best in film from the past year.
Founded in 1966, and made up of more than 60 critics from prominent outlets across the country, annual votes on the organization’s categories include best picture, director, actor, actress, supporting actor and actress, screenplay and cinematography.
Voting is conducted via a weighted ballot system. On the first ballot, members vote for their top three choices, with the first choice getting three points, second choice getting two points and third choice getting one point. The nominee that receives the most points and appears on the majority of ballots wins. If no winner is declared on the first ballot, the category goes to a second ballot and voting continues with as many rounds as needed until a nominee scores the most points and appears on the majority of ballots.
Last year, Nickel Boys won best picture, with Hard Truths, A Real Pain and All We Imagine as Light each receiving two awards.
Winners will be announced as they’re updated live. Refresh for the latest.
