Bucs’ Rachaad White named free agent fit for another NFC team in 2026

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will have some tough decisions to make this offseason on a variety of players, and perhaps even coaches. Todd Bowles will be up for debate, or at the very least, some of his staff. But also, some key players are set to be free agents in wide receiver Mike Evans and running back Rachaad White.
The latter is already being discussed as a perfect fit with another team in the NFC.

Bleacher Report’s Alex Kay listed out ideal landing spots for upcoming free agent running backs, and White was included. The rotational back serves a lot of important roles in the Bucs offense, primarily as a pass catcher and blocker, which is part of why he likes the idea of White leaving Tampa Bay for the Washington Commanders.
Kay writes, “The Washington Commanders could be an intriguing landing spot for White. The back has a history with quarterback Jayden Daniels—playing together at Arizona State in 2021—and could round out a backfield that has a promising young piece in Jacory Croskey-Merritt but is set to lose both Austin Ekeler and Jeremy McNichols this offseason.”
The point of White reuniting with Jayden Daniels is not one that many may consider. We have seen those types of relationships play a big role in free agency and could be enough to draw him away from Tampa Bay.
