Kelsea Ballerini and Chase Stokes are dating once again.
The duo rekindled their relationship after what Ballerini called a “messy year for the heart” on her Instagram Story, PEOPLE reported.
The country music star also called 2025 a “messy year for the outside coming in” and a “messy year for the way it became an out of our hands portrayal of it” on her story, which featured a picture of her and Stokes kissing.

The “Outer Banks” star also confirmed that he and Ballerini were back together in a Dec. 31 Instagram post.
“Something I’ve learned this year: don’t take advantage of the most beautiful things that in 33 years of life are fleeting,” Stokes wrote in the caption.
“Take accountability, learn from mistakes. Lean into love and say it often,” he continued. “2026 my year of growth, my year of truth. Starting here, starting now. Happy new years.”
The post included photos of Stokes and Ballerini kissing and hugging as well as other highlights from the actor’s year.

The celebrity couple was first rumored to be dating in January 2023 after they started messaging on social media, USA TODAY reported. Ballerini and Stokes made their red carpet debut at the CMT Music Awards in April 2023.
In September 2025, PEOPLE confirmed that the couple had split after nearly three years together. Ballerini and Stokes both hinted at their status on social media in the following weeks.
“Don’t believe the media. I’m blocked, I did nothing wrong,” Stokes wrote in an Instagram Story.
“Sorry. I tried,” he added. “I’m sorry for those who believed in us. It is what it is.”

Ballerini later stated that she was “trying to make my personal life personal for now.”
Now, the singer is opening up about her relationship and reassured fans they could have faith in the pair again.
“But what I’ll say, and all I really care to share indefinitely with my personal life anymore, is that I really love love,” Ballerini wrote on her recent Instagram Story, per USA TODAY.
“I believe in it, I believe in him, and I believe in breaking patterns,” she concluded.
