Kevin Fiala and Roman Josi add their names to the scoring charts of their NHL teams on Friday night. In the end, however, both leave the ice as losers.

Fiala lost the Swiss duel with the Los Angeles Kings against the Tampa Bay Lightning with Janis Moser 3:5 in front of a home crowd. When Fiala scored 3:2 on the power play at the start of the final period, the Californians seemed to be on course for victory. However, the Lightnings turned the game around with three goals in the final three minutes.

With his 14th goal of the season, the East Swiss further extended his position as Switzerland’s most prolific scorer. Nico Hischier and Timo Meier have eleven goals so far. Fiala, who like Moser also notched up an assist, ranks second on the Swiss NHL scoring list with 27 points behind Hischier, who has collected 31 points (11 goals/20 assists) so far.

The Nashville Predators fell behind early against the Seattle Kraken and were down 3-0 after ten minutes. The 1:3 by Josi on the power play did nothing to change the course of the game. The Predators lost 1:4 away from home.

The Winnipeg Jets remain bottom of the NHL. The 6-5 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs was Winnipeg’s eighth defeat in a row. The Jets led 4-1 at one point. Nino Niederreiter, who had not scored in 14 games, was not in Winnipeg’s lineup.
