A Strictly Come Dancing star has admitted to being “way out of my comfort zone” as she landed a new hosting role.

Dragons’ Den star Sara Davies, who competed on Strictly back in 2021, took to Instagram to share an exciting career update. The 41-year-old is the host of a brand-new quiz show on ITV.

Alongside a trailer for the show, Time Is Money, Sara wrote: “So guys, I’m going to be kicking off the new year in style with something completely different for me… and something that’s taken me WAY out of my comfort zone (but that I’ve absolutely LOVED!).

“My BRAND NEW ITV quiz show, Time Is Money, is nearly here!! We’ve got a special episode on New Year’s Day at 6pm, right between The Chase and Emmerdale (when I know you’ll be lazing on the sofa looking for something fun to watch on the telly!). Then from next week onwards, it’s in its lovely new home for January at 3pm every weekday afternoon.”

The star continued: “I’ll warn you now though, it’s unlike any other quiz you’ve watched on telly. It’s fast paced, high energy, and SO much fun!

“If you’re popping out during the day, stick it on record, and I’m DYING to know what you all think (and also what you think of my newfound skills as a TV quiz master).”

Several of Sara’s Strictly co-stars and fans quickly took to the comments section to share their support, with Oti Mabuse writing: “Let’s go @saradaviescc,” alongside clapping emojis.

Amy Dowden added: “Can’t wait,” while Vicky Pattison shared: “MAJOR BABES.”

A fan echoed the sentiment, saying: “Looks great! You have great screen presence and will be amazing!” with another similarly sharing: “Amazing news, good luck Sara!”

The “fastest quiz on TV” will see five players receive thousands of pounds before they’ve even answered a single question. But in the game, time is money, so the trick is keeping hold of it.

With every second that passes, the contestant’s timers count down, coin by coin. If they keep buzzing in and answer questions correctly, then their opponent’s timer will speed up. But an incorrect answer costs £50. If their timer hits zero, they’re out of the game.

Each player will stand before a large hour-glass shaped money timer that’s filled with thousands of pounds. It’s topped up at the beginning of each round, before draining dramatically with each passing second.

In a statement, Sara previously said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be hosting Time Is Money. This show is unlike anything you have seen before – it’s full-on, it’s exhilarating and the pressure is real. It’s going to be a rollercoaster of excitement and tension, and I can’t wait to see who’ll keep their cool under pressure. Get ready for a make-or-break adventure, because time really is money.”

Time Is Money premieres tonight (January 1) at 6pm on ITV1 and ITVX, while Strictly Come Dancing is available to stream on BBC iPlayer
