Who is Brandon Allen, Cam Ward’s backup quarterback for Tennessee Titans?

The Tennessee Titans signed veteran Brandon Allen on March 13 to back up Cam Ward, whom they chose with the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

The 6-foot-2, 209-pound Fayetteville, Arkansas, native was chosen by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the sixth round (209th overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft.

His father, Bobby Allen, is the director of high school and NFL relations for the University of Arkansas, where Brandon went to school. His brother, Austin, also played quarterback for the Razorbacks, and was signed as an undrafted free agent in 2018 by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Allen completed 26 of 41 pass attempts for two touchdowns and threw zero interceptions for the Titans during the preseason. He also caught a pass for six yards.

Allen has completed 166 passes in 293 attempts for 1,810 yards, 11 touchdowns and eight interceptions during 18 games spanning five seasons in the NFL.

His best season was 2020, when he was 90-for-142 for 925 yards and five touchdowns in five games, all starts, with the Bengals.

Allen played four seasons for Arkansas.

He was 583-for-1,016 for 7,463 yards, 64 touchdowns and 26 interceptions in 42 career games.

In 2015, he threw a then-school record six touchdown passes in one game, then broke the record two weeks later when he threw seven.
