More snow expected in the North East as cold snap continues

More snow is expected to fall across north-east England as a spell of cold weather continues into the new week.
The Met Office has issued a snow and ice warning lasting until 11:00 GMT on Tuesday, with scattered wintry showers forecast to move inland from the North Sea.
It comes after a weekend of freezing temperatures, which saw snow blanketing parts of Northumberland, Newcastle, Sunderland, Redcar and Hartlepool.
Travel on Monday and Tuesday morning is likely to be disrupted, the Met Office warned, and icy patches could form on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.
