Coronation Street Jack P Shepherd shocked Good Morning Britain hosts as he let slip details of his show future. The actor, who is renowned for his role as David Platt, is one of the stars appearing in the soap’s crossover with Emmerdale tonight.

Corriedale arrives on screens at 8pm and ITV has promised a dramatic hour that will change the landscape of both the Cobbles and the fictional Yorkshire village. Fans have been eagerly speculating which characters may be killed off. Jack was interviewed on Good Morning Britain with Chris Bisson as they teased what is about to come in the episode.

GMB hosts Susanna Reid and Ed Balls gasped when Jack seemingly confirmed his legendary 25 year stint on the soap was going to come to an end later.

Confirming deaths in the episode, he said: “People go and my number has come up. I’ve done 25 years. It would have been great to see the rest of 2026. But sadly tonight is the end. Have I given too much away there?

“I have, haven’t I?” A shocked Susanna probed as she said: “Is that true?” The hosts breathed a sigh of relief when Jack confirmed he was joking, as Susanna said: “I could feel ITV bosses breathing down the back of our necks”

The build up for tonight’s big episode starts at 7pm when half hour episodes of both soaps will be broadcast before the main event crossover starts at 8pm.

Cast and crew from Corrie and Emmerdale filmed for three weeks back in October on a disused road close to Harrogate, Yorkshire. Claire Sweeney is one of the stars to appear in the episode and she spoke to the ECHO about the bombshell episode last month.

She said: “”I think it’s a piece of history. You look back on the old days of the tram crash, you look back on when the aeroplane came down on Emmerdale, they were historic pieces in the soap and this is the same, it’s never happened before.”

Claire, who portrays Cassie Plummer on Coronation Street, said: “It’s not just like a regular episode where we stroll in the Woolpack or Emmerdale strolls into the Rovers, it’s epic.”

Teasing what fans can expect, Julia Goulding (Shona Platt) told the ECHO at the ‘Corriedale’ premiere: “It’s something that will change a lot of people’s lives forever.”

While the details surrounding the exact storyline have been kept under wraps, ITV released a groundbreaking trailer ahead of the episode.

In the aftermath of the multiple vehicle smash, Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) takes control of the situation whilst a frantic Carla Connor (Alison King) can be seen trying to calm someone down.

Injured Shona and David Platt (Julia Goulding and Jack P Shepherd) are tended to at the roadside by Emmerdale paramedic Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant), while Corrie’s own trainee paramedic Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) shares the screen with Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) as she tries to help more casualties.

Both shows have pregnant women caught up in the drama, Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) can be seen trying to help a screaming Shona in a scene in Hotton General Hospital.

And as the trailer draws to a close Kevin and Abi Webster (Michael Le Vell and Sally Carman-Duttine) search for Debbie at the crash site, while a desperate Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) screams out for Aaron in the darkness alongside Joe Tate (Ned Porteous).
