Northbound span of Lake Pontchartrain Causeway closed due to crash

The northbound span of the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway was closed around 3 p.m. Monday due to a crash involving a truck and a trailer.
Bridge General Manager Carlton Dufrechou said it was not known how long the span headed toward the northshore would be closed, but it would likely be at least until 4 p.m. or later.
No injuries have been reported.
Durechou said the crash happened just north of the drawbridge, which is at about the 16-mile mark. He said the truck and trailer “overturned.”
The southbound span remains open, Dufrechou said.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
