EAU CLAIRE COUNTY, Wis. (WEAU) – The Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office confirmed there are ICE (Immigrations and Customs Enforcement) agents in Eau Claire County.
We reached out to the Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office after receiving tips from community members. Sheriff Dave Riewestahl confirmed that there have been ICE agents in Eau Claire County. Riewestahl does not know what cities and/or towns they are in.
The Eau Claire County Sheriff’s Office say they are not involved with any ICE operations and ICE has not reached out to help them detain people.
We also reached out to the Eau Claire Police Department. They say they have also received calls from citizens. They are not involved with any ICE operations.
