A Loose Women star has shared an update as she celebrated a milestone with her secret boyfriend. The ITV show aired on Tuesday (January 6), hosted by Christine Lampard and featuring Coleen Nolan, Brenda Edwards and Gloria Hunniford as they tackled the day’s hot topics.
Later in the programme, the conversation turned to the challenges of spending a first holiday with a new partner. Brenda opened up about her own experience, having just spent Christmas with her boyfriend.
“My stocking was full and running over! It was brilliant,” she revealed. “It’s not about gifts, we gave a couple of gifts. I made an effort with Christmas this year and I put a few lights up and a few Christmassy things in the living room. I’ve never put anything up.”
Brenda has previously found it hard to celebrate Christmas due to the loss of her parents during the festive period. “It’s historically been an emotional time for you,” Christine acknowledged, reports the Express.

Brenda continued: “I invited my partner to spend a couple of days with us and it was lovely. [I] just wanted to have some festive spirit and fun.”
Gloria observed: “You are smiling so much at the moment, I think it must have been a very good Christmas.” Brenda added: “I think with every relationship there’s firsts, but I seem to have been conquering them quite a lot. It’s only been a year and there’s been quite a few firsts.
“The holiday… that went really well and it was only [after] four months of knowing them. I was just really happy that they agreed to come along. It was my birthday, I was like, ‘I want a lovely birthday present. I’m going away to Barbados, do you fancy coming?'”
The television personality then disclosed that she had brought her partner home to meet her brother and aunties over the festive period, describing it as a “very big occasion”. She went on: “He’s really sweet. He offered to chop up the vegetables and it was lovely. We were cooking together… I’m keeping him.”

Brenda shared that her auntie Pam “loved him”, whilst her other auntie, Betty, was “a bit more reserved”. She kept further details about her new romance close to her chest, though she did reveal that he now has a key to her flat.
Christine then observed: “I suppose then, really on reflection on the years that have gone by, this has kind of reframed your Christmas. This first Christmas as a couple has actually made you enjoy it.”
Brenda responded: “It’s the start of me getting back into just celebrating it… We had lots of food, it was absolutely wonderful.”
Concluding the discussion, Christine told her colleague: “We’re very happy for you.” Gloria chimed in: “It’ll be the engagement and wedding next Christmas,” prompting Brenda to firmly respond: “Gloria, there’s no wedding.”
