Genre Journalist Brandon Davis Launching New Podcast

Veteran genre host and personality Brandon Davis is entering a new phase of his career with the launch of The Brandon Davis Show, a podcast that will publish three times a week on YouTube and podcasting platforms.
Mondays are billed as The Main Character with Brandon Davis, which will focus interviews with actors, creators and personalities focusing on the defining main character moments of their careers. Wednesdays will be Ask BD segments, focusing on fan-submitted questions, while Fridays will be Director Debrief — in which filmmakers dive into spoilers and their crafts, or unveil clips from upcoming projects.
The move comes after Davis left his longtime perch at ComicBook in August 2024 after spending a decade building a reputation for his amiable, geek-friendly interviews that mixed journalism and fandom, and for co-hosting the Phase Zero podcast.
His departure from ComicBook came after a change of ownership at the company, and left him unsure if he could continue in the field. But since then, he has been building his own social and YouTube channels as an independent creator, continuing to be a mainstay on red carpets and press junkets and hosting panels at both San Diego Comic-Con and New York Comic Con. He says his combined channels generated nearly 600 million views across platforms in 2025, with his combined social following topping 1.3 million.
The first guests on the new podcast include Guardians of the Galaxy and Peacemaker Michael Rooker, Superman‘s Maria Gabriela de Faría, Insight host Chris Van Vliet and actor Khleo Thomas.
“The idea of being the ‘Main Character’ is about taking control of your life and career, while also creating space for others around you to do the same,” said Davis in a statement. “Getting to have meaningful conversations about the moments, characters, and stories that inspired me to start my own career and journey in this space 11 years ago, now on my own platforms, with an engaged and supportive community … It truly is a dream come true. With this new series, I am aiming to be a conduit between fans and their favorite actors, filmmakers, creators, and more by representing our shared enthusiasm, hosting giveaways, producing events, and more as the show goes on.”
“The media landscape is shifting quickly and authentic, informed, and entertaining face-to-face conversations resonate more than ever,” Davis said. “After working in media and having the good fortune of maintaining the same job for a decade, I was not immune to learning that careers can still change overnight. As a result, I decided to take ownership of my voice, my platform, and my future to pursue the endeavors which I find to be the most creatively fulfilling. The Brandon Davis Show is the culmination of that journey. I have a deep bench of ambitions and know this new series and its inevitable evolutions as I continue to learn from and grow with it will help me achieve and create new experiences and opportunities for myself and others.”
