Donald Trump made an appearance at the Ryder Cup to cheer on the eventual losers, and Kai Trump made it known that the United States President doesn’t spend copious amounts of time on the golf course.

Trump cheered on his team on Friday of the Ryder Cup, before the Americans took a downhill spiral for the worst and headed into Sunday down seven points. His granddaughter and Miami golf commit made the trip to New York alongside him.

After the biennial event came to a close, Kai took to her YouTube platform with an audience of over 1.4 million and revealed that her grandpa doesn’t stop working.

“I sat on the Oval Office couch, like laid on it, and I scrolled on TikTok the entire time, and it was so funny because he told me we’d only be there for like 20 minutes and then we’ll do something after,” said Kai.

“And he ended up being there for like 4 hours. It was it was just really funny. And I mean, we got some good steak afterwards at least. So, I mean, I guess it was worth the wait.”

Trump has been criticized for golfing, as it was reported that his penchant for a round of golf is set to cost US taxpayers a staggering $300 million during the president’s second term.

“No matter what and no matter how long it is, he will always just like always work. He always works. He never takes a day off,” the young golf star added.

Trump has given Kai golf advice in the past, coming before her LPGA Tour debut at the Annika, where she played in the field alongside world No. 2 Nelly Korda and many others.

“We play a lot. We have a great time out there, we’re always on the same team as well,” she added, before sharing his sage words.

“Go out there and have fun. Just don’t get nervous,” the President told his granddaughter before she shot a 13-over 83.

“I was definitely more nervous than I expected, but I thought I hit a lot of great shots out there,” said Kai after finishing dead last in the tournament. “I hit a lot of good shots just to the wrong spots.”

The young golfer will attend the University of Miami beginning in the fall of 2026.

“It was pretty cool because I know I hit it far, but kind of playing with the best players in the world and being literally right there or even outdriving on some of the holes, it felt pretty good,” she said.

“Felt like my game is in a good spot, and especially only being a senior in high school.”
