Deadly crash shuts down northbound lanes of 5 Freeway in Santa Clarita

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. (KABC) — A deadly crash involving several vehicles forced the closure of several northbound lanes of the 5 Freeway in the Santa Clarita area for hours Tuesday morning.
The collision was reported around 3:30 a.m. at Magic Mountain Parkway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Details about what led up to the crash were not available but video from the scene showed a box truck on its side and another with significant damage to the front cab. One person was killed.
Most northbound lanes remained closed until around 10:30 a.m.
