Newcastle star Fabian Schar stretchered off in distress with leg in brace during Leeds clash

NEWCASTLE star Fabian Schar was stretchered off with his leg in a brace during his side’s match against Leeds.

The veteran defender, 34, appeared to twist his knee during an accidental tangle with Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the 70th minute.

Physios rushed on to treat the Swiss star, who was in clear distress.

Following around five minutes of treatment, Schar was taken off on a stretcher to applause from the Toon faithful.

Boss Eddie Howe replaced Schar with Jacob Ramsey, while also bringing Yoane Wissa on for Nick Woltemade.

The match was level at 2-2 at the time of Schar’s unfortunate injury.
